We were HONORED to have Fireman Brandon come to our classroom as our newest COMMUNITY HELPER!! The kids were completely entranced! They were so excited to have a REAL HERO in our classroom!
Fireman Brandon showed us a fun video with Timon and Pumba telling us how to be safe if there is a fire!
We learned about fire alarms and listened to our classroom alarm to know what it sounded like and what to do if there was a fire in our school.
We learned that if there is a fire, we are to GET DOWN, GET OUT, and STAY OUT! We should never play with matches or lighters and we should tell an adult if we find any. We also learned to STOP, DROP, and ROLL if we ever get fire on our clothes.
We discovered that firemen wear LOTS of special clothes that make them look kinda scary, but we know that they are there to help us and we should not be scared!
Some of the kids thought it was pretty cool that he sounded like Darth Vader with his special mask on!
We also learned that Firemen have to be very strong to carry all of their equipment! It took 2 kids to pick up his tank!
