Opposites!

We had SO much fun during Opposites Week!
Every one of the kiddos brought in some FUN and CREATIVE opposite Show and Tells!

One of our most fun activities this week was ~ OOBLECK.
It covered two different opposites: Dry - Wet and Liquid - Solid

We started out with DRY Cornstarch

and added WET water!

Mix away (use your muscles)

Then it was time to GET DIRTY!! (Ooooo! Another Opposite! Clean - Dirty!)
This was such a fun sensory activity!!
If you worked with it slowly, it was a liquid .....
But if you worked with it quickly, it became a solid!

Z is for Zoo!

Letter Z day!!

What better way to celebrate letter Z than to play with ZOO animals??!
We started by sorting Zoo Animals and Farm Animals. We compared and contrasted them and discussed where each one belonged.

After much discussion and some debate on where the animals belonged, we made a Zoo!
Each animal needed a proper "habitat" for them to live in and proper fencing!
After reading "Put Me in the Zoo" by Robert Lopshire, we figured some of our Zoo Animals could belong in the circus too!
Afterward, we wrote in our journals which zoo animals were our favorite! What GREAT writers and illustrators I have!!!
