Sing a Song of Six Pence

Sing a Song of Six Pence
a pocket full of rye
Four and Twenty Black Birds baked in a pie
When the pie was opened
the birds began to sing
Wasn't that a dainty dish to set before the king?

We decided that singing blackbirds didn't sound so yummy in a pie.
So we decided to create our own pies....

Here a few of the things we came up with:

Lollipops
Flowers
 Jelly Beans
Blue Berries

Yummy Yummy!!

As a class we decided that pie sounded pretty tasty for our snack of the day.

So... lets make one!! Why not?

 Everyone helps!

Tada!!

Yum!!

CHEF KELLY!!

 ...and now...
The MOMENT we've all been waiting for!!
CHEF KELLY is in the house!!!

With Letter R, we wanted to talk a little about Restaurants so we had a "Community Helper" come into the class.... complete with a {oh so real sounding} Italian Accent!

Today, Chef Kelly taught us how to make Pizza!!

He had the kids' attention captivated once he threw that dough up in the air!!
The kids were giggling the entire time!
 "Smell-Z-Sauce"
Time to make our own pizzas!
Chef Kelly helped us with every step of the way!
Ready to go in Z oven!!

While we waited, Chef Kelly told us a Italian Fable..... it was FANTASTIC!!

THANK YOU CHEF KELLY!! WE HAD SO MUCH FUN WITH YOU TODAY!!

A: You're Adorable!

Today was all about the LETTER A!!

We had our first day of show and tell and started illustrating and writing our Alphabet Books!

We practiced cutting paper Apples:
*Remember: THUMBS UP!*

We then became SCIENTISTS!
We wanted to figure out how to change our Apples into Applesauce!

We determined that the skin shouldn't stay on. No one likes the skin in their applesauce!?!!

Then we figured we needed to cut the apple into smaller pieces so we could "SMASH IT"

We figured we should add some water...

Some of our scientists concluded that we needed HEAT to change the apples to make them softer! Brilliant!

Time for some SMASHING!

After some documentation in our SCIENCE JOURNALS, we added some sprinkles of cinnamon and devoured our experiment!!

This is what I call *DELICIOUS SUCCESS*!!
