Fun with Colors!

We started our Color Unit last week....

We started by introducing the PRIMARY COLORS

Each day we wore a different color and found that color all over the classroom and outdoors.
At the end of the week, we were able to SORT the primary colors:

This week we are discovering all sort of fun things we can do with the primary colors! We have used our scientific skills and found that by using the primary colors, we can make NEW colors!!

Experimenting with colors is SO MUCH FUN!!!

All about our FLAG!!!

It's letter F day!
We learned all about the American Flag and other National Symbols!
We practiced the right way to say the Pledge of Allegiance and even talked about what the words mean.

We painted our own flags to take home...
Turns out... the American Flag has TWO of our Primary Colors!!

Hey Diddle Diddle....

...the cat and the fiddle.
The cow jumped over the moon!
The little dog laughed to see such sport
and the dish ran away with the spoon!

We had so much fun with dishes and spoons today!
We predicted how many spoonfuls of water it would take to fill this dish....

We painted dishes with spoons.... what a fun way to paint!!!
It was fun to review colors and what happens when we mixed them!!!

Afterward, we had spoon relay races outside!

We acted out the nursery rhyme with props!

COLORS COLORS COLORS!!!

Over the past few weeks, we have been exploring our Primary and Secondary COLORS!!!
"Sorting" helped us distinguish the difference between the colors.
We became “scientists” and began experimenting by mixing colors.
We made predictions before mixing …. there were many great ideas. Some thought that when we mixed the colors, it would become a RAINBOW! Even though some of our predictions were incorrect, were were not disappointed in our results!
We made sure to document our discoveries as our investigation continued throughout the week!
If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you
And share with you its beauty
On the days you are feeling blue.
