Safety and Shapes!

We've been learning all about shapes for the last few weeks.
We finished off the unit with learning about Octagons

What better way to celebrate octagons than with Stop Signs and Safety?!

This was a fun game of  "Red Light, Green Light"

We learned the importance of wearing our helmets!
They keep us safe no matter what we are riding!!

We did some stoplight painting and learned what the colors mean on the stoplights.

Safety Day with Chief Finlayson!

WHAT A GREAT DAY!
We started out by learning about OCTAGONS!
Playing Red Light, Green Light with our OCTAGON Stop Signs!!

We learned about bike safety, road safety, car safety, and staying safe at home.

We were honored to have Chief Finlayson come to our school and talk to us about being a police officer!
What FUN he was!
He had so many fun things to show us and tell us! The kids were in heaven!
Each of the kids got to try on the police hat and vest.....

The Morning Class!

Not only did we get to see one of the police cars with the lights turned on......
Each child got a turn to turn on the siren!!!
We even got to hear dispatch make a quick countdown on the radio!
Police cars have so much stuff to see inside!!!

Afternoon Class!
 HANDCUFFS!!!

The afternoon class turning on the lights and siren!!
Chief Finlayson taught us the correct way to cross the street safely, and even helped us all cross the street in front of the classroom!
He gave us some fun police coloring books and each child left with a sticker badge to call their own!

THANK YOU CHIEF FINLAYSON!!
