End of Year Ice Cream Party!!

Every time we went outside to explore for science, the kids would drool and beg to go on our playground equipment! So for our END-OF-YEAR PARTY, we did just that!
They were in heaven! It was so much fun to see them laughing and giggling as they played together. They made such great friendships over the year!
Look at those monkeys!!!
After loads and loads of playtime, we sat down for an ICE CREAM CONE... then played some more!
What a GREAT day!

I'm going to miss these little monkeys! They really have become MY KIDS! I have looked forward to seeing them try their hardest, succeed, and accomplish something new each day we spend together!

My Favorite Day...

We reviewed our year together and talked about some of our favorite memories in preschool.

Then the kids wrote about it on their journal pages. I'm so impressed each day I looked at their writing. They were real troopers from the beginning to the end of the year and it really paid off!

Symmetry

We had fun exploring SYMMETRY today!
We played "My Turn, Your Turn" to build a symmetrical design with our pattern blocks...

Afterwards, we watched a Power Point Presentation with symmetry found all around the world.

Then we painted symmetrical pictures:

We even made our bodies into symmetrical shapes!

Going on a BUG HUNT.....

Today we did some major BUG EXPLORATION!!

We read some books about where bugs "hide" and we headed outside to find them! We also tried to remember the characteristics of an insect and arachnids as we explored!
We found ALL different kinds of bugs!!!
Bees...
 Roly-Polys!

Each time we found a new bug, we drew a picture on our "observational drawing" chart!
Sometimes we liked it when we could feel the bugs tickle our skin like this Roly-Poly!!

We gave some of the bugs a temporary home so we could see it a little closer!
Look what we found under this rock!!! Is that LARVA I see??!!
(gross, right? The need to spray my yard for bugs grew ten-fold today!!)
 Getting a closer look.....
We realize this bird is not a bug, however, it was carrying a WORM in it's mouth!!!
(too bad you can't tell from the picture!)

We did some counting activities by putting our "fingerprint bugs" in jars to keep!

We had so much fun exploring the BUG's WORLD today!
